Xfinity ripping off the poor

The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that poor people can afford the internet they need for work, school, dr appointments and more.
The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for people on Tribal lands.
If you believe you’re being cheated by Xfinity in regards to this program, file a complaint with the FCC here: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/4412582232980-Need-Help-with-an-Affordable-Connectivity-Program-ACP-complaint-

In today’s interconnected world, internet access has become a vital necessity. However, the unfortunate reality is that certain corporations, such as Xfinity, have been accused of taking advantage of vulnerable communities.
Xfinity, a prominent internet service provider, has faced numerous allegations of unfair practices targeting low-income households.
While reliable internet is essential for education,
employment, and accessing critical services, Xfinity’s high prices further widen the gap between the haves and have-nots.
In addition to the financial burdens imposed by Xfinity, another concerning issue is the lack of accessible options for low-income individuals. While Xfinity offers discounted plans through programs like Internet Essentials, the eligibility criteria and availability vary, leaving many in underserved communities without affordable internet access. This further perpetuates the digital divide, hindering educational opportunities, employment prospects, and access to essential services.
Furthermore, Xfinity’s practice of data caps and overage fees disproportionately affects those with limited financial means. For families relying on the internet for remote learning or job searching, exceeding these data limits can result in additional charges, making it even more challenging for them to stay connected.
