The sociologist Robert K. Merton called this phenomenon the Matthew effect, namedafter a passage in the gospel of Matthew." Also works for social status I imagine… I always felt the bible had a sort of pro Marxist sentiment. It advocated wealth redistribution and the new testament advocated anti discrimination for Most ppl(but not all) social equality should be everyone's end goal for society. But why are Christians now so against it. Is it because of Soviet Russia and Mcarthyism.
